Dr. Nicole Pearson
President
Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) who has been working in the field of autism and developmental disabilities for more than 15 years. Passionate about serving children with complex medical and behavioral needs, Nicole has worked across a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, homes and schools. Joining A Global Voice for Autism as a member of the Board of Directors in 2021 allowed Nicole the opportunity to contribute even more meaningfully to addressing the economic, social and health disparities that exist for children with autism and their families around the world. Nicole holds both Master and Doctoral degrees in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University.
Vice President
Dr. Janine Ellenberger is a physician and serial entrepreneur with a passion for healthcare innovation and improving access to high quality healthcare. She is the co-founder of Behavidence, a technology-based mental health startup. Janine’s eldest son is on the autism spectrum and after navigating care systems for him while living in three countries, she is now focused on creating solutions to the hurdles her family faced from early childhood through university and career navigation. Janine holds a degree in medicine from University of the Free State and a degree in reproductive biology from Stellenbosch University.
Treasurer
Daniel Alvarez-Malo has more than 20 years’ experience as an accountant and frequently uses his skillset to give back to his community. Recently, Daniel supported a group of newcomers from Afghanistan in his community and this experience gave him a glimpse into the challenges faced by many of the families A Global Voice for Autism serves. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from Escuela Bancaria y Comercial in Mexico City, and a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting from Penn State University.
Dr. Nagesh Borse
Secretary
Dr. Nagesh Borse, Executive Director at Global Health Knowledge Exchange, brings over 20 years of global health and development experience, specializing in organizational growth, strategic foresight, business development, fundraising, and operations research across 20+ developing countries. He has held leadership roles at organizations like CDC, USAID, Project HOPE, and Chemonics, and driving partnerships for development initiatives. With a PhD from Johns Hopkins, an MS in Epidemiology, and an MA in International Relations, Dr. Borse has authored 25+ publications and presented at 30+ global conferences. Outside work, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his two children.
Maria Alonso
Director
Maria Alonso is a seasoned marketing professional with over 15 years of experience in brand and marketing management. She has held impactful roles at major organizations such as World Vision, Planned Parenthood, Starbucks, and Coca-Cola. Maria is passionate about purpose-driven marketing, creating campaigns that not only drive business success but also make a positive societal impact. One of her proudest achievements is leading the “Chosen” campaign at World Vision, which significantly boosted market share and revenue. Her work has been recognized in publications such as Forbes, Fast Company, the Seattle Times, and Credit Union News. Dedicated to crafting inclusive and powerful marketing strategies, Maria excels at resonating with diverse audiences.

Luz Chimal is a public affairs and international development expert who has consulted for international organizations of all sizes. Luz is motivated by opportunities to create social impact and she seeks to support A Global Voice for Autism’s inclusion and awareness programming and fundraising efforts. Luz holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de Mexico, and a Master of Arts in Development Studies, Governance, Policy, and Political Economy from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Pra Chandrasoma is a corporate lawyer and currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel at BEN. He was drawn to A Global Voice for Autism after witnessing conflicts’ impacts on daily life firsthand through his family connection to Sri Lanka. Pra also has a nephew on the autism spectrum and has seen the impact care and support have had on his nephew’s quality of life. Pra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Stanford University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

NK Mbaya is a Business Development Manager at Coffman Engineers and has served the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Industry for 25 years. With her experience and expertise in big-picture, long-term strategic business planning; market sector evaluation and strategic initiatives, she has supported internal and external marketing activities for small and large multidisciplinary engineering consulting firms serving public and private sector agencies.
As the mother of children on the autism spectrum, she has firsthand experience on the challenges families face to access adequate services that improve the quality of life for those in the autism community. NK is a Certified Professional Services Marketer, a Society of American Military Engineers Fellow, and holds MS and BS in International Business Administration with a double concentration in marketing and strategic marketing.

Dr. Tim Podkul has 20 years of monitoring, evaluation, research and learning experience in both domestic and international contexts. His experience spans a variety of sectors, including health, education, and agriculture. Tim has a passion for designing and improving interventions and products that support underserved populations and has served in a range of capacities supporting developmentally disabled populations and those experiencing intersectional challenges. As someone with personal and professional connections to the autism community, Tim’s service to A Global Voice for Autism provides an opportunity to combine both vocation and avocation to serve a cause to which he is deeply committed. Tim holds a PhD in applied cultural anthropology and a Master of Arts in medical anthropology from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Connecticut College.

Greg is the Vice President of Digital Health and Innovation at Sage Therapeutics. In this role, Greg has built a new innovation function in the organization and is leading all digital health efforts across the organization, from translational medicine into commercial, as well as leading new teams focused on Web Experience + Strategy and Customer Experience.
Prior to joining Sage, Greg held multiple Digital Health, Innovation, and Insights roles across Abbvie, Teva, Bristol Meyers Squibb and Johnson and Johnson.
Greg lives in New Hope, PA with his wife Lynsey and two children, Emerson and Bennett.
