In Nepal, #autistic children face challenges in accessing their fundamental rights to thrive, primarily due to the absence of specific laws and policies addressing #autism. With the number of autistic children in Nepal surpassing 300,000, the necessity for legislation tailored to their unique needs becomes increasingly urgent.

Despite advancements in disability rights, Nepal still falls short in catering to individuals on the autism spectrum. Current policies lack the depth required to deliver the specialized #care, #education, and #interventions essential for autistic children. Moreover, societal #stigma further isolates and discriminates against them.

What is crucial is the establishment of a comprehensive framework that emphasizes #earlydiagnosis, #inclusiveeducation, and the availability of essential therapies.

Drawing inspiration from high-income countries successfully implementing autism-specific legislation, #Nepal can adopt similar frameworks to suit its distinct socio-economic landscape. This adaptation will ensure that autistic children receive the necessary care, education, and backing they rightfully deserve.

A Global Voice for Autism aims to collaborate with local entities to empower #autistic children to realize their full potential and contribute to creating a genuinely inclusive society.
